    Peterbilt Company Information

Founded in 1939, Peterbilt is an American manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty Class 5-8 trucks. The company's headquarters is located in Denton, Texas. Traditionally the Peterbilt model numbers started with a 2 for single axle tag axle models and a 3 for dual drive models. This distinction was eliminated in the late 1970s.
